The Lincoln and District Model Engineering Society meet monthly in Lincoln. We also have regular running days for our miniature railway in North Scarle (Every other Sunday commencing April 26th until Sept 13th 2026). Our working party meets weekly at the Railway site (currently Thursday).
Last weekend we took the portable track to Heckington Show as we do every year. The weather was kind and our miniature railway proved as popular as ever with the public - especially the little ones (but funny how the Dads always insist on them having a ride as well). But the recent dry spell took its toll and the surface on which we had to lay the track was the worst in living memory. Constant attention had to be given to packing and levelling as the "ploughed field" proved to be far from ideal.
A busy weekend with running at the North Scarle Summer Fayre (seems to have been a great success) on Saturday followed by the regular car boot sale on Sunday. No wonder I was too tired to go to the pub on Sunday evening!
And next weekend we have two full days at the Heckington Show. Stand by for a repeat performance!

Not every railway model engineer chooses to build a locomotive. With Colin Parkers 7.25" wagons in the centre, we have each side a display of Terry Peacock's superb 5" trucks which he has built over the years and of which he is rightly proud.
